MoICE Signs MoU with GOAL Sierra Leone to Promote Civic Education

The Ministry of Information and Civic Education on the 25th July 2025 signed an MoU agreement with one of Sierra Leone’s most consistent development partners, GOAL Sierra Leone. The signing ceremony took place at the office of the Minister of Information and Civic Education at the Youyi Building, 8th floor.

The meeting was focused on discussing collaborative efforts on technical support in peer-to-peer community dialogues, a joint health advocacy program and resource mobilisation to promote civic education, amongst others.

The Country Director of GOAL Sierra Leone, James Mathiang highlighted the power of information in all aspects, signalling the importance of partnering with the ministry. He commended the Ministry’s role in disseminating timely and accurate information to the people of Sierra Leone and promoting civic engagements.

On behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone, the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah expressed his sincere appreciation to GOAL SL for their solid presence and commitment to Sierra Leone, even through some of the country’s most difficult times. He highlighted that the signing of this MoU continues to strengthen GOAL’s development footprint in Sierra Leone in advancing civic education and information sharing.

The meeting was also attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Andrew Kamara Esq. and the Head of Partnership, Timothy Sam, who expressed the Ministry’s commitment to work towards the realisation of the MoU and continue exploring other innovative ideas, tell positive stories and push the message of this partnership forward.
