The Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Amara Kallon, has extended the government’s public sector reform drive to Falaba District, reinforcing efforts to modernize governance and improve service delivery across Sierra Leone. Minister Kallon was speaking at the Civic Day Series held in Mongor, Falaba District on the 24th March 2026.
Addressing residents, Minister Kallon stated that the government, through his Ministry, is actively restructuring the public sector architecture to ensure a more modern, effective, and efficient system that meets the needs of citizens.
He revealed that the Ministry has successfully conducted Management and Functional Reviews for 38 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies(MDAs), including the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone(ECSL), the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation(SLBC), and the Political Parties Registration Commission(PPRC). According to the Minister, these reviews are aimed at strengthening institutional performance and establishing improved mechanisms for public service delivery to support national development.
In a significant move towards digital transformation, Minister Kallon also announced plans to fully digitize recruitment processes and staff attendance within the next year. He disclosed that the Sierra Leone Digital Human Resource Hub will be introduced to replace major paper-based systems within the public service.
The initiative, he emphasized, is expected to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability across government institutions, marking a critical step in the country’s public sector reform agenda.
