At The Sierra Leone Innovation Showcase, Information Minister Promotes People-Centered Digital Transformation

On the 26th September 2025, Minister of Information and Civic Education Chernor Bah, as part of a high-level panel of government officials, shared his perspective on Sierra Leone’s digital transformation under the theme: Driving Sustainable Development through Digital Transformation in New York .

At the Sierra Leone Innovation Showcase UNGA side event, Minister Chernor Bah said that “for us digital transformation is about people first, technology second”.

Minister Bah shared that “through our Cotton Tree Civic Education Strategy, we are embedding digital literacy, civic awareness, and open government practices into every part of our society. At the heart of this is #DigitizeSalone — our commitment to ensuring that as Sierra Leone advances technologically, no one is left behind”.

Minister Bah added, “Our digital civic platforms are bridging the gap between citizens and government, fostering transparency and dialogue. Together, we are building a future where technology not only powers innovation but also strengthens trust, participation, and accountability”.

The Sierra Leone Innovation Showcase event was organised by the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation.
