His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio welcomed President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. to the State House in Freetown. The two Heads of State engaged in an in-depth dialogue on a range of mutual concerns and sought ways to promote their developmental and democratic objectives while strengthening regional cooperation. President Bio congratulated President Boakai on his recent election and the confidence bestowed upon him by the people of Liberia.

President Boakai commended President Bio for his flagship program, “Feed Salone,” acknowledging his dedication to revolutionizing agriculture in Sierra Leone. In reciprocation, President Bio highlighted President Boakai’s initiatives to prioritize agriculture as essential for enhancing food security, creating jobs, and reducing poverty. Together, they expressed their commitment to unite the subregion and continent, collaborating towards the common goal of improving food security and generating job opportunities through impactful agricultural projects that leverage the region’s fertile lands.

Furthermore, they addressed the democratic challenges confronting the MRU and ECOWAS region, reaffirming their commitment to promoting peaceful transitions of power to maintain stability and security. They also examined strategies for cross-border cooperation to foster peaceful coexistence among border communities, celebrate cultural diversity, and boost economic activities.
