The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Hon. Chernor A. Bah, has called on public servants to recommit to service, integrity, and action during a historic Ministry retreat held on Bonthe Island. Describing the retreat as a personal homecoming and a moment of national reflection, Minister Bah emphasized the significance of reconnecting governance with communities.
“This gathering is not just about discussions,” he said. “As custodians of information and civic education, we must remain connected to the people and places that define our national identity.”
Minister Bah acknowledged the challenges facing the country, including limited resources and capacity constraints. He urged participants to respond with discipline, strategic thinking, and unity of purpose. “Vision without action is meaningless,” he emphasized, adding that leadership must be grounded in character, responsibility, and service.
Mayor Mohamed Mahmoud Robison welcomed participants, describing the retreat as historic and praising President Julius Maada Bio for renewed development efforts on the Island. He expressed hope that the retreat would spur future national engagements.
The retreat featured contributions from the Deputy Minister and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, setting the stage for a productive and impactful gathering.
