Ministry of Information and Anti-Corruption Commission Sign MOU to Deepen Civic Engagement and Accountability

The Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MOICE) and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance collaboration in promoting transparency, good governance, and civic awareness across Sierra Leone.

The MOU, signed by the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Hon. Chernor Bah, and the ACC Commissioner, Francis Ben Kaifala Esq., symbolizes a strategic partnership between the two institutions. It serves to commit both sides to joint public education campaigns, coordinated messaging on governance and anti-corruption, and the establishment of Integrity and Civic Education Clubs in secondary schools nationwide.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Bah emphasized that “this partnership marks a new chapter in civic renewal and national accountability and together, we will amplify public awareness and citizen involvement in the fight against corruption.”

Commissioner Kaifala highlighted that “Information and civic education are critical weapons in the fight against corruption” and noted that the MOU is part of broader efforts under the National Anti-Corruption Strategy to foster inter-institutional cooperation.

The agreement also includes provisions for joint training, media engagements, and the exchange of technical expertise, between the two institutions, reinforcing a shared vision for an informed and engaged citizenry.
